TRIVIUM recently announced Nick Augusto as the band's new permanent drummer. Augusto was introduced to TRIVIUM fans when he filled in behind the kit on last fall's "Into the Mouth of Hell We Tour" trek. He is now stepping in to permanently replace the departing Travis Smith.
Smith sat out the second leg of the band's North American "Into The Mouth Of Hell" tour in order to take care of "some personal business" at home.
TRIVIUM is heading right back out on the road, embarking on a tour of Asia, New Zealand, Australia and the U.K., which kicked off this past Thursday night (February 11),in Jakarta, Indonesia and runs through March 24 in England. This will be the band's final tour dates in support of 2008's "Shogun". Once the tour ends, the band will head back to the studio to work on their next album for Roadrunner Records.
TRIVIUM recently entered the studio to record a new song, entitled "Shattering The Skies Above", to be featured on the digital extended play (EP) soundtrack for the highly anticipated PlayStation3 (PS3)-exclusive videogame "God of War III". The EP, titled "God of War: Blood & Metal", will be released in March via Roadrunner Records as a part of the "God of War III Ultimate Edition", and will feature four other previously unreleased songs from Roadrunner artists — KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, DREAM THEATER, OPETH and TAKING DAWN.
